I watched a lot of anime, which help me relax after a work or school day. I want to find more! Let's make a list of non-stress works that cheer you up. My TOP: Nichijou. Gin no Saji. Working!! Tamako Market. Hyouka. Non Non Biyori. Azumanga Daioh. New Game! Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka? Nijiiro Days.
I Couldn't Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job. What do you do when the Demon Lord has been defeated? The Devil is a Part-Timer. This is tough, I don't usually watch the non-stress ones. These two are great comedy, however.
Going to say anything in the Nisekoi style of manga / anime is technically Slice of Life right up until the story resolves itself. God damn teases.
I recently watched "Time of Eve", a 6-epi anime set in a near future where the main difference from now is that people own ridiculously human androids. The MC discovers his family's android has been spending some time during her day at the titular cafe, where androids turn of the holographic halo that immediately distinguishes them from humans, and are treated as equal patrons. Obviously there are themes of discrimination and the MC trying to guess who is human and who is a robot, but it's all very low-key and deliberately paced.
I don't normally watch Slice if Life anime, as I prefer action AND humour. But I quite enjoyed Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (I don't have many friends). Fun and funny, about a group of school kids who are complete outcasts and create a club to try and make friends.
Clannad? SoL anime isn't really my thing, so I don't pay much attention to it, but people keep trying to get me to watch Clannad and Azumangah Daioh.
They kind of are. That's what happens though, when you focus more on people than plot. And what's the issue? Nothing wrong with SoL stuff.
Clannad yea best Slice of life in my opinion and the second season is better than the first but makes no senes without watching the first( if you got a heart you will cry it dry) SoL are good to watch once in a while when you need to just let it out ( and nobody can see you ))
For me Usagi Drop, if not the best, is the truest definition of "Slice of Life" anime I've watched so far. It revolves around two characters having to deal with everyday issues of their new life as a man adopted his own aunt (which is a little girl) and makes sacrifice to become a good parent. Simply beautifully slice of life well told. But my favourite of all anime, which has SoL genre (or sub-genre if that matter), is Mushishi.
Aku no Hana (Flowers of Evil) 3-gatsu no Lion (March comes in like a lion) Bakuman Barakamon (SO GOOD!) Ballroom e Youkoso (Welcome to the Ballroom) Bartender 5cm per second (best watched with tissues, alcohol [strong zero prefered], and someone to hold) Fune wo Amu (The Great Passage) NHK ni Youkoso (Welcome to the NHK! [does this one count as slice of life?]) Sakamichi no Apollon (Kids on the Slope) Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu
I just finished watching Laid-Back Camp (YuruCamp) and loved it. Camping is something I used to do a lot of but family life now prevents, so I really really enjoyed the anime-glorified version of it.
