You probably circumvent any normal restrictions on the use of that magic, such as being able to use the summon small critter spell in order to get food. Corruption of naturally occurring sources of magic is likely also a thing. There could also be a mainskill/ subskill dynamic between eldritch and the eldritch versions of various magics giving eldritch users powerful bonuses even at low skill levels in a particular aspect.

We do not know enough to tell, what we do know is that eldritch users gain great power from their corrupt powers, but ultimately get killed by the backlash as the powers strike back against the offender.

Am I just basic, or does the most obvious cheat seem like it could become seriously OP. Enchanting cheat, specifically.

Everyone on this forum has likely played skyrim and had an outfit/ rings/ potions that aided in crafting and enchanting. Given all of the things Richter can do already with enchanting and the magic core in his possession, all he would need to do is find 1 boost enchanting potion and 1 boost enchanting enchantment. If he could recreate those and add them to his already powerful ability to create his own crystal powder boosting effects and this could quickly grow into crazy proportions.

With the dungeon giving him endless captured souls as well as endless supply of random enchantments and potions (labyrinth reliquaries), I have to believe that this is the direction AK is already going.

Boost alchemy strength enchantment, doubt there's a boost enchanting enchantment unless it has a crazy high soul point cost per rank (like in the realm of 200n where n is the rank)

1.1)Enchanting is one of the strengths of the village, but OP to the max, not so much. Richter's biggest advantage right now in this regard is that he has access to something most nations only get later in their development, the Forge. According to Krom though, there are another seven forges in the river peninsula. One of them is in Rione, the Inferno Forge.

The location and status (some may be lost or have fallen into the hands of evil races) of the remainder is unknown, though my guess would be that either the dwarves in the serrated mountains, the firetip mountains or the underground stone kingdom (assuming it still exist) have or have had at least one. Its possible, likely even, that more forges exist in the western half of the river peninsula as well as within the wilds. Its unlikely Krom would know much about regions so far from his own homeland.

1.2) The reason the forge is good is that it gives a few permanent bonuses in addition to bonuses that vary over time. Unfortunately only one of them relates directly to enchanting, namely the ability to absorb enchantments. Which is common to all the Forges. This gives Richter and his people a large variety of enchantments to choose between, though frankly Richter has made some odd combinations that basically destroyed that weapon.

What the forge does not do, is increase the strength of his enchantments or how many enchantment points they have. This means that while Richter has a larger toolbox to choose from, other enchanters can produce weapons that are just as good using the enchantments that they do have access to. Variety isn't everything, for a slayer a bonus to damage against certain types of monsters would be more than sufficient for their actual needs. For others a flat damage boost.

    2) Random new enchantments seem like they would require a labyrinth dive, as the Dungeon only has access to what it takes or what is sacrificed to it. I love this idea though, I look forward to seeing the dream team - Richter, HM, Randy, Yoshi, Shinecatcher (I bet HM would love him, if only because Richter would hate it so much XD), Alma, Sion and Richter's golem as the tank - get into trouble down there, risking the fate of kingdoms on the role of the dice that is the labyrinth. Is there a level 1500 t6 devil titan around the corner? Or a box filled with loot? A trap? Anything and everything could happen in the labyrinth.

    3) Souls are overrated. Richter would have had access to plenty of low-level souls from hunting and warring against natural monster lairs (remember the insects in one of the early books? Hundreds in one lair). What he really needs are higher quality souls. I don't think the Dungeon will have too many of those.

Good question. What happens when someone destroys that summoned beast or pet? Does the karmic burden dissipate or return to the one who incurred it? Would the lich + remaining troops have been destroyed by the loss of a large enough chunk of his forces? Could they have brought him down without ever facing him in battle?

Does the Land accept a Master who is Eldritch willingly? Could a sufficiently powerful Eldritch Master or Grandmaster (or above?) twist the powers in an area into serving him? If so, would he then be immune to incurring said karmic burden?

Too many unknowns, and frankly going Eldritch is the classic easy power route. Never take the easy powers route, there are sure to be all sorts of catches.

    Mostly agree?

    1. I didn't say that it was OP. I said it could become OP.
    2. Are you sure this is still the case? The new bonuses are God Node and Labrinth reliqueries. I've talked a little about what I believe the God node is, but I thought the Loot ball bonus was obvious. Allows for drops that haven't been sacrificed or absorbed.

True I forgot about that. In which case they may be getting them. I'd put myself out on a limb and say its probably going to be mostly local and a smaller percentage of upgraded lootballs. But you may very well be right.

Right it depends if u kill a friendly attracted life creature like the parrot, you get penalties..
But if you harm your spider in the battle, then the spider only attacks you. Hmm What about trying to forward the dmg to spider that was chaotically evolved. Could be possible.

I agree and believe that's how they tamed it in skyrim as well. I don't remember. Even without the enchantment on armor, it could still be stacked and boosted. With all of that, some of the enchantments we've already seen can be crazy.
    For example:
    - Reduced spell cost in x school of magic.
    - increased x (primary stat)
    - increased xp gain
    - increased concealment
    - increased lvl of summons
    - shadow shift
And those are some of the more tame ones. Imagine an enchantment that boosted psi abilities and had them put on Alma's armor.( can she wear rings? ) max enchant that and boost the level of creature she can solo drain then had to labyrinth. Congrats, you're power leveling.

    Let's go even further.
Duel enchantments with other enchanters aiding. Increased jump height with stamina regen. All boosted in every possible way. It basically allows Richter to fly.

What if he gets an enchanting core building?
Doesn't his crafted glove not count as a gauntlet and still could be enchanted? What about socks? Underwear?
How many times can an enchantment stack and how many times can enchanting be boosted?

This can get out of control quickly

Great idea. Summon an amount past your limit of control and then defend yourself (get psi krystals and soul krystals) when they attack you. Also try and tame the last one each time, it would probably level the skill nicely before it disappears back from the realm it came.

After which you get the message "The universe is not run by idiots nor does it rigidly follow a ruleset without consideration for intent. After review of your actions, plans and thoughts leading up to the fight it has been determined that you deliberately incurred an attack from your summons by going past your control capacity in order to circumvent the natural laws of your magic. Your fight and subsequent killing of your own summons is therefore considered a violation of your magic. It is also against the rules to try to circumvent the rules, incurring another punishment. Finally, we don't like you, which gets you a third punishment"

Don't forget this is the same system that put Nexus in charge of managing an entire region. Not that I consider him a bad guy, but its definitely not flawless.

Can't further yourself without pushing past your limits. Just think of it as control grinding, and mental training.

the universe would still see your true intentions ;) . That's the problem with a universe that has full access to everything, it doesn't have to be intelligent, it can just check what your true motives are. Though it helps then the people running it on the local level are intelligent, and as Richter's buddy Nexus is in charge, I doubt even the slightest overstep will be allowed to pass.

Plus you can't get souls or loot from your own summons.

Hisako had told him that summoned creatures would always disappear, along with their souls, except in certain special instances, like summoning a demon within a pentagram. Even then, there were serious consequences to attempting what he proposed.

Kong, Aleron. The Land: Monsters: A LitRPG Saga (Chaos Seeds Book 8) . Tamori Publications, LLC. Kindle Edition.

Personally I think its great Aleron forces Richter to work within the system instead of giving him exploits that billions of natives are too dumb to figure out even after millions of years.

That said, this does sound like a valid exercise in and off itself. Might be worth trying this after he returns to the village and gets access to the improved selection of options. Might need to level the village first though.

Very few if any will have resistance to it.

Allows you to gain control of others and twist them to your will permanantly, like a far superior version of richters charm spell.

The litch mentioned he was going to take Richters power and abilities for himself somehow. Thats crazy powerful if he has a way to take other peoples abilities.

Also seems to augment other powers that it is infused with. Example he was able to augment Nien's mental ability. So it seems to enhance the users power.
