Nice work johan, this is awesome. I think he chose well on the special attacks, the only one I might have thought twice about was flowing rock instead of crush. But given the circumstances he had to choose in, I think he made the right call. Crush will probably be more useful in the very short term. Long term though, his high quality weapons and sonic enchantment make crush less valuable, whereas flowing rock could save his ass in battle.
The major drawback with sonic enchantment is that it is less effective on denser materials, lowering or cancelling the chance of shattering. This in turn means that it becomes less usefull against higherlevel items made from denser materials, thereas crush has no such limitation. Sonic is a lowlevel enchantment after all.
But can be Improved upon, both in Rank and Tier. Also the Shatter Enchantment can be used in conjunction with Crush increasing both their effectiveness.
It cannot be used on anything other than a weapon. I suppose one might add it to some form of weaponized pick axe, but using it for mining should lead to UNDEFINED BEHAVIOR. That could mean instead of shatter directing the shards against the wielder of the shattered weapon it directs them against the nearest target. Its own wielder.
It will work quite well against rock golems and other earth based nasties at least. Pick Axe is just a specialized axe, could a weapon Enchantment not be added to a wood cutters axe? Yes it could.
It could. Would nonweapon behavior be clearly defined for the enchantment? No, because its a weapon enchantment, designed to interact with the world in a certain way.
We will just have that opinion stored away as your prediction until it is used against in a non-weapon behavior way and see if you are right.
It reminds me of "the bad guy series" by Eric Ugland. The MC has a knife made from a kraken tooth. It has an ability to propel the user through water. At one point in time the MC used it while the blade was stabbing someone. The blade propelled the MC through the blood of the enemy. The MC flew through the body of the person. Everyone was horrified.
Will granite breaker have forms too? (I don't think so). Will Yoshi be able to teach the special attacks Richtær didn't select, or will Yoshi only be able to teach the special attacks he chose himself? (I hope so).
I think granite breaker has forms too. I also think yoshi probably knows all the special attacks like the guy Richter is learning granite breaker from.
I suspect that Richter has already Learned the Forms for Granite Breaker when he Learned it from the Book and experience the memories within it, we might in the future see Richter Name those Forms as uses them in Fights? I would would think that Yoshi while can't as such Teach Special attacks that he can guide Richter in improving those Richter has Learned at a greater speed then normal and possibly(?) help to comprehend those that Richter hasn't Chosen (as long as Yoshi knows them himself) and so possibly increase the chance of Richter Learning them himself, assuming that it's possible for Richter to Learn them before he gets the next Rank above Novice? I also think that Yoshi can now Teach him New Forms that he wouldn't most likely to have been able to Learn before he get to Novice Rank. He should Ask Yoshi if he knows someone amongst the Sprites (or amongst anyone else?) that knows (and would be willing to Teach him) a Combat Style and Techniques for Archery. And for that matter any other form of Weapon Technique Styles? He should Ask amongst his Village Folk as well, Randy for Instance? Also ask Hisako and Sumiko if there's anything like a Mage Combat Techniques, and if they know of someone who might be willing to Teach him? #Johan, any Chance of a Thread that Lists his Combat Skills (and preferably the Book number he Leant them in, their Levels at the end of the different books, any Perks or Bonuses he gained from Levelling them and such like), maybe with mentions of what basic Classes they tend to fall in, like Warrior, Archer, Rogue, Mage, Miscellaneous, ect? Maybe another thread for Non-Combat Skills?
Randy might know one, but it seemed his fighting style has no forms. If it is a style, it might not be. I think his small blade knowledge is not a style.
I would guess that fighting styles are rare, and requires much specialized training. Only those in elite fighting organizations will know them. I don't get the impression Law has special ops. Maybe there's some form related to a shield wall. Perhaps the assassins org may have forms, or the people on the islands that make glass weapons.
