Hey, love the new better and bigger forum!

I was thinking about how would one get smarter in The Land?!
    Say your base stats are:

    • Strength: 10
    • ...
    • Int: 10
    • Wisdom: 10

One would be normally smart, standard..
But what would happen if you put a +4 Int ring, or drink a fortify Int potion etc.
would you become smarter? or wiser , would your choices become better.. Or only the spells would bet a bit of a bump..

Its very easy to compare with strength... you can lift more right.. with higher Int magic come s more easily.
But does it affect you're real life choices f.e. jump off a cliff or designing a attack plan..

This is touched on slightly in the books. It's alluded that there is likely a secondary stat called intellect that does get a very minor bump from putting points into intelligence but nothing noticeable on a point to point scale. Similar to resilience and endurance I think.

The intelligence stat seems to give his better recall, but I can't discern if increasing Wisdom has done a dang thing for his choices.

Some of the most intelligent people ever committed horrific war crimes in the name of science, but accomplished very little as they lacked understanding of what they were trying to achieve, they lacked the wisdom to see the broader perspective. Some of the wisest people in history barely knew how to write and do basic math, but instead they had an understanding and insight that diden't depend on the speed with which they comprehended new things.

Intelligence and wisdom do not correlate. Experience and wisdom do. Increasing his wisdom stat does not give Richter a foundation of thought and experience from which to make better choices. You also have the perspective of the allknowing reader that gets served the important bits, thereas Richter is going through days where countless irrelevant nuggets of info are thrown at him. He has no way to know what will be important weeks or months later and if we're being honest, I seriously doubt any of us can remember every nugget of info thrown at us a week ago as we expect from Richter.

Increasing Intelligents does increase his base smarts by a very tiny amount, and increasing the secondary Stat Intellect does so to a larger degree, there are probably ways to get a much more noticeable, immediate and more profound increase in Base Intellect/Intelligence/Thinking ability in The Land. Species Evolution & Tier may well be one option (depending on choice), as might certain Abilities and Traits, also there might be some Item like objects that can impart something like his in someone.
There are also most likely a few very rare Skills that would grant the Secondary Stats of Intellect, maybe a few Jobs and Professions as well.

Wonder what the Wisdom Secondary Stat equivalent of Intellect is that helps to increases Base Wisdom?
