Is it still shameless self-promotion if you get to know me first?

So on the one hand I'm pretty sure I've got the right interests to be here: I love to read litRPG series (Play to Live, Way of the Shaman, Red Mage, Light Online, and The Land to name a few). I watch an unhealthy amount of isekai anime, which may as well be the same thing in video form. I even take the whole "living the game" thing a step farther by being the owner of a LARP.

On the other hand, I didn't realize this website existed until I went looking for places to market my upcoming novel, Original Enchantment (see, there's the shameless self-promotion). If some random guy walks into your clubhouse and starts hawking their wares without so much as a "how do you do?" or "by your leave," it makes sense folks would tend to get rubbed the wrong way.

So there's the question: Should I promote myself and damn the consequences, or should I introduce myself first? ;)
