    XVIII. Page II!

The sprite shoes and boots should stack.

A pair of shoes inside a pair of boots sounds pretty uncomfortable.

It does raise an interesting question though, namely whether you can wear a set of enhanced clothing beneath the armor? Even if you can't wear something that gives bonuses to defense could you wear a modified wizards robe? Pants with a movement bonus? Socks with a movement bonus?

So the quote I was thinking of was this:

Now though, with Wudhous’s shoes, he was able to run for an hour in his armored boots before he started to cramp. That didn’t stop the nightly happy endings, of course, but it did help his bunions!

So from the sprite armor set he could probably wear the shoes and pants with his Enhanced set.

There is also the skeeling life braces that could be worn with anything else. But that is gone now. Must be why his teeth hurt so much at the end of book 7.

A couple of armor sets have leggings, so that sounds fine under leg guards. Lots of armor sets have layers that go into it in the real world.

Indeed, layers are often critical for proper Armour to fully work. Reinforced Trousers and Leg Bracers would offer a lot more protection then just one or the other, also have less weak spots and openings in the armour, and be more comfortable to wear then just Bracers, especially with Under Leggings and small cloths (and defensive groin protection) added as well. The same for Reinforced Jerkins (padded) and Chest and Arm Armour, and also Under Tunic. The Under Cloths can be Crafted to have additional Protections and Benefits as well. And never under estimate the usefulness of Socks, especially if the are Crafted with additional effects to further enhance Boots or Shoes.
Plus with Medium it Heavy Armour the Number of Layers tends to go up, for instance Under Tunics (mostly for comfort but if crafted right can have other benefits), and then a Reinforced Toughened Padded Jerkin or similar, and then Chain Mail and then Plate Armour, then and Optional Tabard and Cloak, and maybe some Fur Over Coverings on the Plate and additional under cloths in Winter, similar for the Extremities like Legs, Arms and Hands&Feet. Head would usually have a Cloth Under Cap, then a Leather and Cloth Padded full skull Cap and then Chain Mail and Plate Helm.
