The most fun I have ever had with a rogue war playing Shadowbane, a pvp mmo. As a the if you could sneak around groups that were hunting and take their gold. If they had a scout, and they noticed the theif, they could track the the if down and kill him, taking their gold back and any extra goods they found. You could spend hours in the back and forth between thief and scout. It was awesome!
Sorry to inject myself into whatever this is, but I hear Shadowbane being discussed. (^ _ ^)/ Zomg, the memories! I mained a huntress when no one else was playing them and without a doubt SB was one of the most amazing pvp games I'd experienced. Okay, for some reason this is the ONLY pic I have from years ago that happened to uh, be my forum sig for the guild I was a part of. I ran an Irekei b4 my huntress. DON'T JUDGE
Nice! I had dial up when I was playing so it was a mess, but still loved it. More than two small groups in pvp lagged me out. Not so much in pve. I think I remember the huntress days when they were op, but don't remember why. You must have stated yours before that. Good times!
I offer (with some diffidence to this learned group) the original Bards Tale - set in Scara Brae with limited (very) graphics and turn by turn (slow) motion it still managed to scare the ooze out of me............fond memories.
Did you hear they're making a sequel? Well, kinda. It's called Mage's Tale and is based under Brae? https://uploadvr.com/gdc-mages-tale-dungeon-crawler-rpg-hands-on/ Don't think it's turn-based, though, unfortunately. There's something to be said about those old tactical RPGs... Fond memories indeed!
Mage's Quest looks very, very interesting and I think I shall have to look at VR as well ..............Dammit! Thanks Paul
