When we weren't sure if they would make a Season 2, they have already announced Season 3. It will start summer of 2018...This Summer. Kari and I haven't finished season 2 yet...i'm so excited.
The animation is well done, Overlord is one of the novels that made me realize LitRPG was a thing. It's not my favorite though, the evil thing grew old on me. But it's definitely worth reading/watching!
The one thing I learned from watching Overlord...Japanese gamers are a complete pack of wackadoodles.
So, having finished Season 2 and having thought about it a bit, I would rate it 7/10. I loved the first season and gave it 9/10, but the second season had too many pacing issues and the whole lizardmen arc seems pointless in retrospect. Still looking forward to the 3rd season and hopeful they can recreate the recipe that made the 1st season so fantastically enjoyable, by focusing on a few characters and doing one arc really well at a time.
I thought they skipped a lot of what could have been done with the lizardmen arc, which was disappointing as hell. I am looking forward to season 3 still though.
They skipped a ton of what was in the side manga and the light novel, S2 was mostly focused on the efforts of Ainz's lieutenants rather than on his exploits during this time. that said im looking forward to the 3rd season and the rumors are flying for a movie filling in what they missed.
