The best part? If he keeps removing stuff he'll end up attracting the attention of Wikipedia, which means they'll see that what I've posted is all legitimate.
One question though. Did Kong trademark it or is attempting to trademark it? makes a difference and you should probably added the dates in the submission form there for that extra oomph! or just reference the form with a link
NICE!!!!!!!!! rapid fire achievement unlocked! You know, it's weird but 1/2 prince was the first time I've read any book/mange with "lets have a game themed idea" and I followed it for the longest time. nice to see it mentioned,

I literally just played wow for like 3 hours and decided to glance because I hadn't seen the new entry and...gone. Once again, no mention of trademarks, etc. Same on the Facebook. Every mention is gone. Just...wow.
I'm here Thank you very much for this excellent site, Paul. I'm very happy to join your community. Pleased to meet you all, guys. To cut a long story short, the fact remains, he's still in the Supplemental Register which gives him no rights, no exclusivity, just the privilege of posting the R sign next to "his mark". Which means we can safely continue using the word, especially if we don't want him to get it. In fact, it's probably now the ONLY way to stop him from getting it. There's nothing wrong with Gamelit, it's a great word, I personally like it very much, but it's the principle of it. I don't like watching sleazy guys win. Not my thing. And if we do drop the word, it's the easiest way for him to get it. He doesn't own it now, not yet! But he will if we discontinue it. All I can say now, good luck to him. And I really think we should be pestering Amazon to create the LitRPG category. Then he won't have a leg to stand on.
LitRPG_Chick posted the same block on the Reddit thread - and got it floated to the top. It's certainly worth noting. There's also a lot of confusion on Copyright verses Trademark. Trademarks can be contested down to font choice and artistic styling's of a word - eventually Aleron may be reduced to trademark on LitRPG in his fancy font but not general usage of the term. I'm fairly sure this is in line with a starting goal to protect shirts and other swag from being copied and resold- likely after talking to a lawyer. This isn't me defending Kong specifically, but trying to understand the root decision that brought this about. However, Kong and Blaise are both alike in this regard, they take moves that net positive outcomes. This is merely being smart with business. If the trademark gives Aleron more power and say when it comes to brand, I doubt he'll be against that. If it ends up being only fancy letters on a shirt, then that's okay too. If Blaise changes the group name to avoid drama and take away power, but also further undermines any attempts Kong is making - then that's a win no matter how minor the impact. I doubt either one is sitting at their desk cackling about how an evil plan is coming together (well, Blaise probably is but for different reasons).
