Has anybody thought about doing a YA story set in a regular, near future high school, but with the RPG elements being an augmented reality game like Pokemon GO! where the kids are playing in the hallways, during class, after school, etc...

Oooo, this one goes on the stack of ideas. Geez, it's getting tall.

Yes. My next series is going to be augmented reality. I’m thinking along the lines of Accel World with traditional MMO PvE elements thrown in.

Can't say it seems like it would be my cup of tea, but AR does seem like providing some nice opportunities for Horror (even if in very small doses), by letting the Weird creep into the Normal (a bit like Netflix's Anon tries to do in a few scenes).

I think I'm actually wanting the normal to creep into the weird. I have way to much experience with normal high school life not to be able to write that.

God. Every time I read the words Pokemon Go, I die a little inside. I had so much hope for that game. I got sucked right into it when it was all that rage and before Niantic showed their colors, so yeah... I'd def would like to write/read an augmented reality series where I can live out that perfect Pokemon Go fantasy, lol.

I live out in the middle of nowhere so NO POKEMON OR GYMS FOR ME. The friggin' woods should be teeming with Pokemon, Niantic.
