On a side and completely unrelated note, I would really like a way for Richter to turn others like Alma or Sion into Chaos Seeds
Maybe a tier 4 evolution? Tier three seems early to start to "sow the seeds of chaos" in others, maybe 1 every decade or so. I bet tier 4 is where we would see something like that
Random thought, but Aleron really did himself a disservice by getting rid of the old forum. Talking about it on this forum actually makes me appreciate book 8 more. I was never as down on it as some, but the conversation showed me I enjoyed it more than I initially thought.
With the new The Land role playing game ,will the game mechanics answer some of the outstanding questions? What is a focus? How do Talent points work with 2 professions? When does a village become a town, kingdom? Etc
The eight hexical trucks of The Quickening represent the current plane and the seven higher planes, or the eight Lay Lines.
Do you guys think it likely that AK will use the increased XP requirements to level, to allow Richter's villagers to catch up to their Lord's level? It is possible that by slowing Richter's leveling, AK is allowing the flow of time to speed back up? If Richter only levels once a month, then future books can start covering a period of weeks or months rather than days. With this pacing we would be more likely to see Richter's skills rise enough for a combat profession sooner rather than later, and Richter would be able to wrap up some old quests like finishing his ship and traveling to the Lost Citadel on his map, or pursuing the location on the map fragment that had been guarded by the dark aberration.
Certainly possible. I personally don't think that will happen but it would be cool. It just doesn't really seem like his style.
I think he will use it to give the others a chance to catch-up. But I don't think this will allow for more time skipping. If we can consider the Basilisk alliance as an arc, then traveling will be another arc. Though I have my doubts Aleron will even do arcs.
I consider the lich battle to be the end of act one. Its the first time, other than in the very beginning, Richter has left the village on his own for an extended period. I doubt he will be back for quite a while in terms of books. I'd say at least one more book set entirely in the underground, maybe more.
I find it very unlikely the majority will ever catch up. The companions might, and the elites have a chance, but the average villager won't.
I doubt they will catch up but hopefully the don't far too far behind to the point of being irrelevant. Seeing what tier 2 being Sion picks would be awesome.
If he wanted to catch up just about anyone to Richter he already has the perfect mechanism in place. All he has to do is let Richter learn a few more enchantments by spending his XP. Didn't work the last time, won't work this time and the new XP requirements won't matter at all.
