If the only thing he releases is that book in the new series, I won't even think about buying it. Not going to support him if he won't keep his word.
He has broken his word several times, hasn't he? He promised book 9 by the end of 2021 and said he was writing all this time, but he later admitted that he took off over a year. I understand that he had some personal issues, but he should have been upfront about his hiatus. I just don't trust anything he says anymore. Until he starts releasing chapters I just assume that he's lying again.
He has released a ton of that comic but to me that’s worthless. It’s just from his first book and not all that interesting in itself IMO. Hopefully he gets to an actual book and that right away.

The comic has been outsourced I believe? If so that is a creation based on his book but its not his own work. No credit for that. As for him taking a year off for personal reasons, that can happen for any author. Sometimes they have to throw out most of a book repeatedly or they can't get into the right mental space for some reason and readers just have to suck it up and put on their big boy's pants. Its the dishonesty and lack of communications I dislike. Mostly the dishonesty as I follow lots of authors that are terrible at communications and I don't blame them. Well not that much, its mostly annoying.

So, with releasing chapter 1 of omnimage on his patreon it looks like we may actually have an Aleron book this summer! We could possibly have book 9 by the end of the year if he’s been working on them all concurrently like he claimed.

I wouldn’t do it. Even if he had a bunch of chapters up. You pay the ten bucks for a month of access and he might not post anything for the rest of the month. I would just wait until the book comes out, myself.
