If you want exposure, nothing puts you out there like your actual person being on YouTube in a consistent manner. Keep in mind we need to see a face, not just a voice. It helps us connect to you and therefore your work.

 

Bonus if you are a robot? And I won't lie, the people who are prettier/good looking are more popular, that holds true on YT just like most everywhere. However, if you have content that people want, are consistent with your output, you can make it work.

Edit: To be fair, I think that James G Patton you added was originally part of my account. They jacked up some things when I applied for my author page, really a pain in the butt. Amazon does something similar, so I have to go through emails with them when I publish.

I'm from a large family myself (8 siblings, and my dad has 5 siblings and my mom has 14 siblings, and almost everyone is married and average 4 or so kids). I'm not going to do the math, but that is a f'n buttload of people.

It was the only reason I was considering using a pen name. A lot of them are very religious, even some priests in that mix, and I was afraid the language in my book and even the god joke I made the end would piss them off. They enjoyed it, at least the ones that read it, so no worries there. I get where you are coming from though.

As for the group bookshelf, I only input the first book. Everyone else like @Apollos , @DJ Schinhofen , @Zachariah Dracoulis , and lots of others not (yet) on this forum meticulously added to it.

I really need to get on this. How many precious seconds does it take to set up an author account, if such a thing exists?
