So, apparently the schedule right now for Kong’s books is: 21 for book 9, 9/21 for Gods Eye 2, 12/21 for a new series. What do you all think his new series will be? Over/under on when those books actually come out?
It will be an inspiring story of a poor half gnome struggling to survive an Eater infested cave and make unlikely friends with the gnolls. Followed by his miraculous escape from the goblins amidst a war and his unjust murder by his new best friend. OR Roswan's Profession & Specialization Trial.
It will be a Sion/ Alma focused book covering the events back in the village while Richter is off on his journey. Including the bugbear assault and siege on the village, the arrival of the caravan, the arrival of the dwarf mercenaries, the random villager that will supposedly be nudged into position to help the caravan through the mist (which could be foreshadowinhg that Richter is not back at that point), the rise of the amphibious cavalry, the rise of the ents (pixie tree elementals) and other events that Richter won't take part in because he is busy creating danglers in remote underground caverns.
I hope it is a series that ties new chaos seeds to Ricther. Hopefully it will start with the new chaos seeds in some distant land. With luck they will have several individual adventures that eventually ties them together in the first book. I would like to see them having several big adventures in the second book. The second book could end with them struggling to get away from an enemy hunting them. They could find employment on a new ship needing sailors leaving in the middle of the night. That would be good for me.
I wouldn't be surprised if the new Series is set in Dungeon Earth and involved Zeros Sister in the Bunker.
That is likely dead on target. I can easily see Aleron starting a entirely new series to stand alone. Although, I had really rather see a short series of books tying into The Land and Ricther. You are probably right in your presumption. A totally new series that walks along the other side of the worlds. I find that fairly disappointing. Seeing how he will have three series to work on while he hasn’t done well setting release dates it will only get worse.
It's just going to be another excuse to delay all of them. Just wait for the "sorry guys, writing three books that connect in the same universe is taking longer than I expected" postings.
Do you honestly believe that? Since I haven't seen any evidence that they are linked outside of their bloodline. It is possible that aleron is writing them that way since it would be easier?
I imagine Zero's rise to godhood happens after Richter has already made a fairly big splash in the Land. Hence the chaos lords may be seeking out his relatives for other pawn+ pieces for the great game. The way the sponsor talked about breaking down planets and so on to get the required power diden't sound like the chaos lords though. Sounded smaller than the infinite lords. Sounded like someone else, either other servants of chaos or even an unaligned group that decided to give Zero an edge in the competition. He will need that edge when he gets ganged by pantheons.
