So far we know companions and soul familiars can bypass a party limit. Its unclear if a bonded meidon sprite and their pixie count as one or two in a party. Also unsure if bodaks/undead pets count in a party or not. I'm not sure that pets or domesticated animals have been addressed either. Finally, we definitely dont know about chaotic vassals yet. On top of all of that, are there any limits to numbers of companions, familiars, undead minions, pets, bonded pixies, chaos vassals, etc. That can be rolled into one? If there is a limit, does it go by type of bond, or total? For example, can you have 5 companions and 5 pets, or 5 total (or some other number, like 7)? Can Richter just roll through the dungeon with an army of bodaks, pets, golems, companions, domesticated animals, and bonded sprites with their pixies? Thread for all these questions and more..
IMHO the entire idea of "so-and-so doesn't count" is just plain dumb. But now that the box is open, I have no idea how deep it is. Companions don't seem to have a limit, so just by excluding companions it seems the party is limitless, it'll just be very difficult to keep that many relationships alive. But if you can do it, just roll through anything. I didn't mind with the free-range party (so to speak) because there it's only the rewards in the open world that become better (by not being penalized) and only XP rewards at that. But in a traditional dungeon, where the dungeon needs to "balance" its rooms, it's just plain awful world design. Hopefully, it works differently in the labyrinth! Otherwise, we may see exactly the scenario you outlined
companions Richtær Randy Sion Terrod Elora Soul Blooded? Sumiko? soul familiars Alma bonded meidon sprite pixie. Sapier Sumiko's? bodaks/undead pets Death Knight Nien, Soul Eater? Abyssal Syphon? pets or domesticated animals Adder Worm Bull Skath chaotic vassals yet Ryuu? Created Creature Golem Bonded serf Futen That would be 11=1
Are you talking about abyssal syphon or nien's body? I don't think they can use nien's now that his head is gone (wish he would have scooped that up). Totally forgot about Sumiko's soul blooded status. She probably just got 5% more affinity from the adventurer specialty too right? Not a guarantee it was in life magic, but it probably was. Richter didn't seem to benefit from that again..
Factor in Richter has the potential for 5 more tamed pets, 2 more golems, 1 more vassal, 1 more companion Elora, God knows how many bodaks (nien seemed to have over 50), and all the other scaths that imprinted on him. 11 shoots up to over 20-50 = 1
The limitation is there to prevent them from moving an army through the labyrinth, abusing it for warfare that could in turn lead to the dungeon on the other end being destroyed to prevent their entrance, just to mention one scenario where it would hurt the labyrinth. An army could probably also farm most labyrint creatures with impunity, which goes against the will of the labyrinth. So I don't think there is a hard limit to how many pets, companions, etc. they can bring. Instead it could very well raise a "flag" for every creature that enters that way, with abusers getting warned off by the labyrinth itself, if it starts to look like a circumvention of its rules. After all, if the dungeon can become semi sentient already its reasonably certain that the labyrinth is also self aware.
Jorgen the knight also lost his head: "The knight looked up at him a snarl on its wizened face. In a variation of the sword form The Drunken Barber, Richter swung his sword and decapitated his enemy." Book 5 So the whole decapitation shouldn't be a problem.
Beyan was able to heal the corpse, but richter still had the head. I doubt Beyan could fix it without the head, kind of weird that they never tried though. Now that i'm thinking about it though, its highly likely that hisako and Sumiko destroyed the body while they were studying it.
I can dig it, then there's just the matter of whether or not sumiko "accidentally" destroyed it while she and HM were trying to learn its secrets.
Destroy! I hope not. What kind of autopsy person is she? If we can reattach a head and it still work, I'm thinking as long as it isn't disintegrated, it would be fine.
Sumiko dislikes necromancers, due to their tendency towards selfishness. I think its a mechanic Aleron hasn't really expanded on enough, but apparently certain character traits are tied to certain affinities. You can still go against your nature, hence the reason she points out that its only most necromancers that are selfish assholes. Them being outcasts no doubt strengthens the selfish traits that made them outcasts in the first place. Life mages on the other hand are given to selflessness. Doesn't mean there they are all good, but the majority most likely are. In this particular case, sumiko would have destroyed the corpse to prevent it from being abused as a tool rather than allowed to rest in peace. Not to mention, necromancers with powerful servants are really dangerous. Given that most of them are also untrustworthy scum...
It would be a lot more powerful than the decamer, with paralyzing touch among other things. Almost a waste to raise it now before beyan can get a better spell though.
Ya those stat reductions because of the novice spirit. Might need to have Richtær learn the spell and upgrade it through enchanting specialty. Then an item can be placed inside or on the body and awaken it. Spoiler: Sprite making a death knight
