WIP Calamity at Clearwater (Tentative Title)

Well, it's a new day and a new novel. I wanted to get started now while my other novel is going through the "end game" process. I'm hoping to have this one finished by the end of the month but we will see what happens.

Thank you guys I really appreciate the support. Today I was dreading going to the computer to write. I might be suffering from a little burnout so I'm gonna try to take it easy over the next couple of days. I'm also afraid my prose might be suffering. Don't know. I'm sure I'll find out when I go back and read it.

Almost 14k in two days. You're as bad as @Dawn Chapman I'm impressed that my novel is at 15k after a week.

 

Hah yeah I am trying to get through this one as fast as I can. I am enjoying this book and get lost in the world. Another reason I'm trying to push through is because I really want to get to the next book, an idea that has been burning in my mind for about a month.

 

Is your next book a sequel to this one or something new? Also, is Calamity at Clearwater a LitRPG book? Because if it is, then, you need to add the word 'Online' to your title. Calamity at Clearwater Online. Sorry. I'm referencing a joke post I made earlier today. That post is here.

 

Hey John! This book is actually a sequel of my first novel. The last novel I did was the prequel, go figure me on how I time things. Haha I notice a lot of people put online in their titles. But hey, whatever helps readers find their stuff. Also yes, the books I write are LitRPG books.

 

You're killing it. I just checked the leader board and you're killing it in word count. You are going to blow past that 100k goal this month.

Thanks! I've been pushing myself to write harder this month than I have ever done before. Today I am finally taking a whole day off. I'm doing nothing writing related and it feels nice. However I'm going to buckle down tomorrow and try to write as much as I can before my scheduled D&D game (I wouldn't play but it's a chance to spend time with a family member)

Dawn: We have a leaderboard on another forum but it would be a fun thing here to have. I'm not sure how I'd stack up to the other big names here. I heard you're a major killer when it came to word counts. Now if I could only learn to dictate I could be the next Barbra Cartland of LitRPGs.

 

This is just a suggestion. Put it in the "works in progress" thread and attach a Google Docs to it that displays everyone's word counts. You should give a prize in forum gold to the winner or perhaps give someone a forum trophy or something.

 

hehe, I'm not so sure I can either. I write in spits and spats and I've some big editing jobs coming up to get KTE ready to publish. So we'll have to see. I sprint with Michael Chatfield most days, and yeah he does the 100k plus a month, which I only ever did once when not in full time work. lol

 

I think that would be pretty interesting and a good incentive to keep writing. hehe

 

First, I love the phrase Barbara Cartland of LitRPG. You have significantly improved your reputation and standing with the Ward Faction. Seriously. That's a great phrase.

Second, okay, so the leaderboard is on a different forum, but where? Is it RRL? Or somewhere else? Well, honestly, it probably wouldn't matter too much if it was somewhere else. I ask about RRL because I've thought about using it and something like a leaderboard might push me off the fence.

I need something to motivate me to get the words out of my head and onto the screen.

 

It is on another forum that Tom and I are members of. It's not as large as this forum. Also as far as motivation goes there are a few things you could do to get your motivation up before some kind of contest gets put up. You could use word processing games to give yourself motivation.
